Today, one in six couples will experience infertility making it difficult or impossible to get pregnant.

Alex Johnston is on a mission to help families avoid the heartache of infertility. It’s a mission that’s become even more urgent given delays in fertility treatments brought on by COVID-19. The key to helping families is to be realistic with them: it means a wholesale change to the way information about reproductive health is communicated to women and their partners, said Johnston, author of a new book “Inconceivable: My Life-Altering, Eye-Opening Journey From Infertility to Motherhood,” in which she chronicles her own five-year-long struggle to start a family.
